Guidelines for Authors

Manuscript preparation

Authors should aim to communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely. Experimental papers should contain sufficient detail and references to public sources of information to permit others to replicate the work. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work. Information obtained privately, as in conversation, correspondence, or discussion with third parties should not be used or reported without explicit permission from the investigator from whom the information originated. When a paper has joint authors, one author must accept responsibility for all correspondence. Full postal address, complete host institution details, telephone number and e-mail address of all the authors should be provided.

Length of Submission

There is neither an upper nor a lower limit. However, we strongly recommend that the main text of the contribution should not usually exceed 3,000 words (excluding tables, figures, references, computer codes). Please remember that reviewers and readers prefer compact and succinct writing.

Grammar

It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that proper grammar and language skills are used throughout the paper.

All submissions should carry a separate title page file (in PDF format). It should contain only the title of the paper, and names, emails and host institutional details of all authors. The name of the corresponding author should be clearly marked. Please name the title page file as: Title page_(Name of the paper).pdf

Example: Title page_A Bayesian life-cycle model to estimate escapement at MSY in salmon.pdf

Abstract Page

All submissions should carry a separate abstract page file (in PDF format). It should contain only the title of the paper, the abstract and nothing else. In no case the identity of the authors should be divulged in this abstract page (even if indirectly or unintended). The length of the abstract should not be more than 250 words and should summarize the content of the paper. The abstract should be followed by up to six keywords in addition to those in the title identifying the subject matter for retrieval systems. The model skeleton of the abstract is given below:

  • Introduction

  • Materials and Methods/Data and Methodology:

  • Results and Discussions

  • Conclusions
